CAMPAIGN NEWS

April 8, 2026

Thank You Timnath!

We did it! We won! With all but a small number of mostly overseas ballots outstanding, we can confidently begin celebrating our successful campaign. Unofficial results show me as a the top vote getter by a margin that guarantees me a seat on town council.

I am deeply grateful for the support our community has shown me throughout this campaign and ultimately with their vote. To those of you who attended public forums, hosted house parties, donated time or money, put up yard signs and helped spread the word, I say thank you for sharing my commitment to smart growth, proactive economic development, revitalization of Old Town, thoughtful fiscal strategies and careful financial oversight.

I’ll be joining Mayor Axmacher and councilmembers Bill Jenkins, Jeremy Holt and Luke Wagner, who was reelected on Tuesday, as one of five independently elected leaders. To me, that independence means showing up prepared, asking hard questions and making decisions based solely on what is best for Timnath. It means championing bold ideas, building coalitions and keeping my public commitments.

Thank you for your trust and your commitment to Timnath’s future. Now, let’s get to work!

Timnath Needs Someone Who Knows the Ins and Outs of Municipal Finance

For decades, Dennis Strachota worked in local government as:

  • A finance director and budget manager.

  • A chief financial advisor to elected officials.

  • A public finance expert who trained government professionals across the country.

That’s the kind of real‑world expertise that helps a town grow responsibly. There's a huge difference between business finance and municipal finance. Dennis' practical experience in municipal finance can make a difference on Timnath Council.

If you want a Timnath Council member who knows how to manage budgets, strengthen accountability and plan long‑term, vote for Dennis Strachota.

Return your ballot today; deadline is tomorrow, April 7th. To ensure your ballot is counted, use the 24-hour ballot box at town hall, 4750 Signal Tree Drive. If you are registered but don't have ballot, you can fill one out at town hall between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Timnath’s Rec Center Must Be a Catalyst, Not an Island

If I’m elected to Timnath’s Town Council on April 7, I will make one promise absolutely clear: revitalizing our downtown and driving smart, community‑minded economic development will be my top priority. Timnath’s historic town center has all the ingredients to become a true gathering place — a place where families meet, small businesses thrive and our community’s identity comes alive. The time to build that future isn’t someday. It’s right now. And despite what some council members think, it won’t happen without effort and investment from the town.

That’s why, in my testimony to the town council on March 24, I supported the resolution approving the design and engineering contract for the recreation center.

This is a once‑in‑a‑generation investment in Timnath. But as someone who helped lead the citizens’ campaign to secure voter approval last November, I also urged the council to go further — to amend the contract, or issue a companion contract, to plan and design clear, intentional connection corridors between the recreation center and the Main Street business district just one block away.

One of the council’s stated goals for locating the $75 million indoor recreation facility in the heart of town was to spark revitalization of Old Town. That vision will only become reality if the facility is designed as a catalyst, not an island. A catalyst draws people in, supports nearby businesses and invites private investment. An island does none of that. If we fail to foster connectivity between the rec center and Main Street, we miss the opportunity to breathe new life into our core.

Timnath residents understand this. In the town’s 2025 community survey, 81% said the town should dedicate funding and staff timeto revitalizing Old Town— bringing in more businesses, more services and more reasons for people to gather. That is an overwhelming mandate for action.

We can’t keep building isolated projects or sidewalks to nowhere. We need a downtown that connects to our neighborhoods, to the Cache la Poudre River and to the Poudre River Trail — a downtown that is the heart of a growing, connected community.

As your next town council member, I will fight to ensure the recreation center becomes more than a building. It will be the spark that ignites a vibrant, welcoming downtown.

With your vote and ongoing support, we can make this happen. Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m., April 7. A postmark is not enough. Don’t risk your vote not being counted; use the official ballot drop box at Timnath’s town hall at 4750 Signal Tree Drive.

Mayor Axmacher Endorses Dennis Strachota for Timnath Town Council
"When I look at the challenges and opportunities facing Timnath today, Dennis Strachota stands out for his thoughtfulness, his professional background and his demonstrated commitment to our town."

"Dennis does not just show up; he contributes. You may recognize him from Town Council meetings, where he consistently provides insightful written and verbal input. His comments are well-researched, thoughtful contributions that have helped shape the dialogue in Town Hall long before he decided to run for office.

Dennis spearheaded the recent citizen’s campaign to support the future recreation center, proving his commitment to Timnath’s future.

With significant professional experience in local government, Dennis understands finance, responsible policymaking, and the long-term planning required to keep Timnath thriving. He won’t have a learning curve; he’ll hit the ground running on day one.

I am proud to endorse Dennis Strachota for Timnath Town Council. He is a thoughtful leader, a professional who understands the system, and a neighbor who truly cares about our town."

Strachota Identifies Smart Growth and Fiscal Oversight as Critical Issues for Timnath

How well Timnath manages its growth and its finances will largely determine its success or failure as a community where its residents are proud to call home. Too often fast-growing communities, such as Timnath, bow to the allure of unfettered residential and commercial development. When that happens, development outstrips a community’s capacity to manage and finance vital services and infrastructure.

With 40 years of experience as a public finance expert and practical experience as a local government executive, Dennis knows what has worked and not worked elsewhere. He has led and supported dozens of elected governing bodies and will immediately bring valuable experience as Timnath’s newest councilmember.
